Microbes

This month we have been examining the positives and negatives associated with micro-organisms.
To examine their prevalence in the environment, including our school, we took samples from around the school using swabs and agar plates.
We hope this will inform us as to the necessity of keeping hands and surfaces clean, as well as keeping food covered (and our noses when we sneeze!)
Thanks to Padraic Caffrey and Catherine Fox for providing us with agar plates
Within a week we had some startling results

Festive Art

This week the class have been working on some Christmas art. They've made Christmas tree decorations from clay and some bespoke Christmas wrapping paper from newspaper print, paint and Christmas themed stencils.

Art Project

The girls were tasked with recreating the works of famous artists as photographs. So impressed were the staff with the results that Mrs.Bradley, our resident artist, has secured an exhibition space for us in the county library.
We hope to have everything ready to go for the new year.

Christmas Decorations

The girls are working on their own decorations, cutting them out of clay with cookie cutters

Geography Projects

The girls have been studying European and Asian countries, of their choice. As well as producing fine work in their Atlas Hunt workbooks they have recreated them as PowerPoints which allows them a different and more engaging medium with which to present their work.
