This week we learned about Native Americans. We discovered how they came to the Americas, all about their way of life and how they came to be mistakenly called Indians.

We found out more about the practice of making dream catchers and how the Native Americans believed that if hung above a child's bed they would permit good dreams to pass through whilst they would prevent nightmares from reaching the child.

The Native Americans would make their dream catchers from anything they had at hand such as willow saplings, plant fibres, bison sinew and decorate them with beads made from bone and feathers. Similarly, we used locally sourced materials, mainly from Woodie's and Mr.Price!

Today we learned about the lungs. We found out about what they did and how they worked. Our class also conducted an experiment to show how the diaphragm (the large muscle at the bottom of our ribcages) helps us to inhale and exhale. We also looked at the damage that smoking does to our lungs and Mr.Arkins conducted an experiment to show this. We've included some photos/videos of us at work and of our finished product
